Using Public Internet Access Terminals For Instant MessagingIf you have to use a public Internet terminal for communicating purposes, here are a couple of safety tips to keep in mind. Before using the service, ensure that the Instant Message program is not set to remember your login id and password. This can be found in the options of the program, but if you are not sure how to do it, check with a staff member. There is always the possibility of keylogger and IM recording software being install on public access terminals. Do not type out any personal information such as credit cards numbers, social security number etc. If you have the option /access to do so, erase your chat history once finished using the terminal. Again if you are unsure of how to complete this task, check with a staff member of place you are in.
